The need for speed must have been strong for a van driver in Slovakia.

A video posted on Bratislava police’s Facebook page reveals that the man was driving a Fiat on the R7 highway near Slovakia’s capital on April 13.

He stopped on a breakdown lane right under a CCTV. The recording shows him preparing and also consuming a line of crystalline substance before hitting the road again.

“The camera recording was delivered to the police during April,” Bratislava police said on the social network. They added that it’s alarming that the driver proceeded to drive after getting intoxicated.

However, it was not the recording that made the police trace the driver.

Traffic patrol stopped the very same driver on April 28 in the streets of Bratislava. As he appeared to be under the influence of drugs, they forced him to undergo a test.

The test then revealed that he had cocaine and THC in his blood. After that, the officers realized it’s the same man as in the video.

What's going on in Slovakia

Slovakia is a lovely mountainous country in the heart of Europe. But there’s never a lack of odd, weird, or downright absurd events

Such as a Czech woman stopping a gas station robbery, or a former minister dumping a pile of manure at the Slovak Government Office.
